If you’ve only had a Twitter account for even a few days you’re probably getting inundated with “follow” notifications. But, what’s the ettiquite for “following” back? Some people say that you should blindly return the favor to everyone…but I’m not so sure. Neither is Conigs over at iamawesome.net – he’s crafted a useful flow chart that pretty much mirrors my sentiments on it. Also he calls someone a “Twitter-Douche”. Classic!
That being said, I certainly could use to follow a few more people…. a certain Ars Technica writer is really grating me with their now two week bout of constant whinyness! If your cool – you’ll pass this flowchart and I’ll follow you back!

You wouldn’t be referring to my favorite Twitter-er I love to hate (starts with e, ends with jacqui), would you?
Also, I should have put in a “Screw You” between the spammer and block elements.
Seriously, it’s ridiculous. I just had someone follow me from Hammer’s label with (at the time) 1,996 following and 300-something followers. Considering most of my tweets are about Milwaukee, video, or interesting links (not related to music), I’m pretty sure he was just trying to dig up followers.
Lastly, I think “Twitter-Douche” should be every day vernacular.
